What are the requirements to play for North Logan Soccer Association?

Child must be between the ages of 4 and 12 as of December 31 of the current year to be placed on a team. Each player must have a copy of his or her birth certificate turned in to the association Secretary before the first game to be eligible to play. Fees must be paid in full before player can receive a uniform.

 

Can I register online?

Registration is not yet available via the Internet. Forms may be printed from the website and turned in at any registration date.

 

When & where is registration?

Registration is held in the shelter house at Murray Griffin Park in Belle Center, Ohio. The park is located at the corner of Charles Street and North State Street. Registrations will be accepted for the 2009 season July 21st from 5-7pm, July 23 from 5-7 pm and July 25 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

 

How long are registrations accepted?

Registrations will be accepted for the 2009 season July 21st from 5-7pm, July 23 from 5-7 pm and July 25 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

 

What is the cost to play?

The cost per player is $30 dollars if they have a good quality uniform from last year.  $40 dollars if they need a new uniform.

  

When are my fees due?

Fees are due with registration. All fees must be paid before player may receive their uniform or participate in a game.

 

What does my fee cover?

Player fees cover uniforms, field preparation, referees, league fees, equipment, and any miscellaneous expense related to run a successful season.

 

When will I practice?

Practices begin on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 6:00 pm. All practices are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 7:30 pm.

 

Where are practices held?

All practices are in the Belle Center parks.

 

When do games start?

The season generally begins the first Saturday after Labor Day. Due to Honda's Family Day we expect the season to start a week later. Watch here for updates in August.

 

How many weeks do we play?

The season generally runs for 8 weeks, which includes 2 weeks of tournament.

 

Where are the games held?

Games are held at the city parks in Belle Center, behind the water tower in Lakeview and at Lions Park in Huntsville. Please see the directions page for a more detailed description.

 

My child will ride with another child. How do I get them on the same team?

Please make a note at the top of the registration form with the other child’s name. We will do our best to accommodate all requests.

 

Can I request a specific coach?

You may request a specific coach by making a note at the top of the registration form. Due to the large amount of requests, we cannot guarantee placement.

 

Can my child change leagues?

Your child may play up into a higher age bracket, but they may not move down under any circumstances. The Logan County Soccer Association reserves the right to request any birth certificates to validate age.

 

I am interested in being a coach, what do I do?

To volunteer to be a coach you may call Janel Kelly at 935-3843 anytime prior to registration and fill out the coaches’ section on your child’s registration form. 

 

I am interested in being a referee, what do I do?

Those interested in refereeing please contact Rick Bednarki and fill out the referee section on your child’s registration form.

 

How can I help?

This association cannot run without its many volunteers. We need concession workers, coaches, team parents, fundraiser assistants, set-up crews and grass mowers. Please contact Janel Kelly at 935-3843 for more information.

 

What are the fundraisers for this year?

The fundraisers for this year will be:

Yard Signs - order forms can be printed from the Form page or picked up at Registration. Orders will be taken until the 1st week of October.

Clothing - JC Sports will be offering a Spirit Pack (coming soon), also looking into having someone come to the fields for individual printing options.

Little Ceasars - forms to be turned into Coaches or Board Member by Tuesday, August 11th.  Pick-up orders on Wed. August 26th at the Belle Center Fire Dept.

  

What is the picture schedule?

Picture days have been scheduled for Sunday, August 23rd. with a rainout date of Sunday, August 30th. Coaches will hand out schedules for individual times. Jeff Rose Photography will be taking pictures.

 

How will I know if a practice or game is cancelled?

Please listen to 98.3 WPKO for cancellations. All cancellations will come directly from the NLSA Board. We ask coaches to call each player to notify if a practice change.

  

What extra equipment will my child need?

NLSA and LCSA require each child wear shin guards for practice and games. We encourage players to wear cleats and mouth guards. NOTE: Baseball cleats may be worn if the toe cleat is removed.

  

I want to get my child a ball. What is the right size for each league?

6U & 8U – size 3

10U & 12U – size 4

 

How long does my child's game last?

6U: 2 - 10 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime

8U: 2 - 15 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime

10U: 2 - 20 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime

12U: 2 - 25 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime
